  • Equine Facilitated Therapy is a form of therapeutic support that uses the healing presence of horses to help individuals work through emotional, psychological, and social challenges. Unlike traditional talk-based therapy, it is experiential meaning it takes place through hands-on interactions with horses in a safe and natural environment.

Horses are deeply sensitive animals that mirror human emotions with honesty and without judgment. This unique quality allows clients to gain valuable insights about themselves, while feeling supported and understood in a non-verbal, compassionate way.

Sessions do not focus on riding, but on building trust and connection through activities such as grooming, leading, or simply spending time in the horse’s presence. These experiences can open the door to healing, growth, and new perspectives.

Equine Facilitated Therapy can support individuals in:

    • Processing trauma, grief, or loss

    • Managing anxiety, stress, and emotional dysregulation

    • Rebuilding confidence and self-worth

    • Enhancing communication and social skills

    • Strengthening resilience and inner calm

Every session is tailored to the individual, creating a safe, trauma-informed space where healing unfolds naturally through the partnership with horses.

"I came to Jo-Anne after a difficult experience with another therapist. She rebuilt my trust by being absolutely authentic from day one. No therapeutic speak, no false empathy, just real human connection with professional boundaries."
